 Reusable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA)
RIPA promotes the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible design, manufacturing, collection,
reconditioning, remanufacturing and reuse of industrial packaging. This includes preparation for recycling
at the end of its useful life.
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
ANSI supports the development of national and, in many cases international standards, addressing the
critical trends of technological innovation, marketplace globalization and regulatory reform.
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
ASTM is involved in developing and providing of voluntary consensus standards, related technical
information, and services having internationally recognized quality and applicability that promote
public health, safety, overall quality of life; contribute to the reliability of materials, products,
systems and services; and facilitate national, regional, and international commerce.
American Chemistry Council (ACC)
The ACC is the voice of the US Chemical Industry. ACC represents the chemical industry on public policy
issues, coordinates the industry's research and testing programs, and administers the industry's
environmental, health, and safety performance improvement initiative, known as Responsible Care®.
Chemical Packaging Committee (CPC of IoPP)
The CPC meets an industry need to keep abreast of packaging changes and concepts, government
regulations, and provide technical information to technical personnel in the chemical manufacturing
and packaging industry.
International Standards Organization (ISO)
The ISO promotes the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to
facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the
spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.
National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD)
The NACD's mission is to enhance and communicate environmental health and safety practices and
professionalism of the chemical distribution industry.
Petroleum Packaging Council (PPC)
The PPC provides technical leadership, environmental stewardship, quality techniques, processing, human
requirements, distribution, service and education to the petroleum packaging industry. The association
provides an international forum where members can exchange pertinent information on packaging from the
receipt of materials through the manufacturing process to the ultimate consumer.
Steel Shipping Container Institute (SSCI)
SSCI is an actively engaged association representing the steel shipping container industry before state
and local agencies, and the U.S. Congress. Through the SSCI's Technical Projects and Government Affairs
Committees, the Institute carries on a continuing dialogue with the individuals who craft the
legislation and regulations that impact the manufacture, testing and use of steel shipping containers.
